Many thanks to the committee members and Rutland Health Foundation Staff for their tireless work and support for the Green Mountain Gala.
A positron emission tomography (PET) scanner uses drug tracers that allow the machine to see where parts of the body may be diseased. The PET scanner is combined with a CT scanner so that precise location of the abnormal area can be identified. The use of the PET scanner continues to expand significantly each year. Rutland Regional’s Foley Cancer Center physicians and staff reference PET scans daily for critical information that guides treatment decisions. While PET is an oncology workhorse, it is becoming an increasingly valuable tool for our cardiologist team. An on-site system will provide a new and exciting offering to our community by allowing Rutland Regional to image for heart disease in ways that is currently only available at larger hospitals.
Over the next several months, the Rutland Health Foundation will work to raise funds to support the cost of a new PET imaging scanner at Rutland Regional Medical Center, and this year’s Green Mountain Gala will kick-off our fundraising efforts.
We hope you will attend the 2024 Green Mountain Gala and help Rutland Regional Medical Center continue to make a difference in our community.
Thank you for your support.
