Our palliative care specialists will help prevent or relieve the symptoms of your medical condition and the side effects of treatment while caring for your physical and emotional needs.
Palliative care services focus on providing you with the best possible quality of life during any stage of treatment for a serious medical condition. Our specialists will get to know you and develop a customized palliative care plan that supports your treatment goals and your personal wishes and values. Services typically include:
You or your loved ones can request palliative care services at any time by talking to your hospital doctor. Palliative care services require an order from a physician. Our palliative care specialists are available for consultations Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, or by special arrangement.
Our palliative care nurses work closely with you, your loved ones and your doctors to provide specialized comfort care tailored to your specific needs and medical condition. In addition to helping improve your overall well-being and quality of life, our palliative care nurses provide information and education on the typical course of your illness, treatment options and possible side effects.
The Comfort Care Suites on the fifth floor of the hospital are designed to enhance the quality of life for patients with a serious medical condition or terminal illness. They provide space and support for family members to gather with patients during their final days, enabling families to focus on their connections with their loved ones.
These suites provide the comforts of home with safe, individualized hospital-level palliative and end-of-life care where patients and their family members can be together.
