Find compassionate support and resources throughout your cancer journey.
We know that cancer diagnosis and treatment can be difficult for you and your family. If you or a loved one are going through cancer treatment at Rutland Regional’s Foley Cancer Center, you’ll have access to supportive programs and community resources to help ease the physical and emotional stress of cancer.
We offer support services including:
Complementary medicine describes treatments offered along with traditional medicine. These therapies can help with cancer symptoms and treatment side effects – they’re also known to promote healing, relaxation, and overall well being. At Rutland Regional, we offer complementary therapies including acupuncture, animal-assisted therapy (AAT), gentle yoga, and more.
After a cancer diagnosis, you and your family may be concerned about cancer treatment costs. It can help to learn about the costs and your options at the beginning of the process. Costs related to cancer care are usually for things like tests, hospital stays, treatment visits and medicines, surgeries, and home care. Your costs will depend on your health insurance, diagnosis, and treatments you need.
The Financial Counselors at Rutland Regional are an excellent resource for determining what financial help you may be eligible to receive. They can provide a consultation with an advisor to help you learn about how to control and pay your medical bills.
What you eat is an important part of how you’ll feel during your cancer journey. But cancer side effects can sometimes make it harder to follow a nutritious diet. Our certified nutritionists will help you learn to eat better before, during, and after cancer treatment.
Our palliative care team creates personalized plans to help with serious chronic (ongoing) or life-threatening medical conditions—during any stage of treatment. We offer support including pain relief, patient and family counseling, advance care planning, and more.
Rutland Regional’s master’s-level clinical social workers are here to help you cope with the stress of a health crisis or long-term illness. We will work with you on the issues you and your family are facing, including adjusting to injury or illness, coping with grief, planning for rehabilitation, home care, and much more. The Foley Cancer Center offers support groups for patients, caregivers, family members, young adults and survivors. You can find groups to fit your situation, so that you can lean on support from a community that understands the specific challenges you face.
