Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Rutland Regional is accredited by The University of Vermont which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. AMA Category I credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with one hour of participation earning one credit. Every effort is made to ensure that specialty society accreditation is also obtained for appropriate programs, so that physicians attending these courses may earn the credit most useful to them in fulfilling their continuing medical education requirements.

Anesthesiologist

The Department of Anesthesiology of Rutland Regional Medical Center is looking for a BC/BE Anesthesiologist to join our group of five Anesthesiologists, CAAs and CRNAs. Our practice is the exclusive provider of anesthesia services at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Rutland Regional is a level III-equivalent Trauma Center. Tertiary care center support by either Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, University of Vermont Medical Center, or Albany Medical Center with ground or helicopter transport available.

The hospital is licensed for 144 beds. Service area 85,000.

Cardiologist

We are looking for a non-invasive, Fellowship-trained cardiologist to join our thriving practice of three well established cardiologists and one nurse practitioner.

Endocrinologist

Rutland Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Rutland, Vermont is an award-winning independent community hospital that serves central and southern Vermont and eastern New York State. RRMC is the second largest hospital in Vermont and is licensed for 144 beds with a service area of 85,000.

RRMC is recruiting a full-time Endocrinologist to join our established Diabetes & Endocrinology practice. Board Certification or eligibility required. This outpatient, hospital-owned practice is adjacent to main hospital campus. Hospitalist Daytime

We are looking forward to hiring a full-time Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our team of fifteen. The Rutland Regional Hospital Medicine program began in 2000 and has served the inpatient needs of our community in collaboration with our dedicated outpatient care partners. Our hospitalists work collaboratively with our many departments including a full spectrum of consulting services, a physician run closed ICU and a breath of support services from diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, and lab. We enjoy a true partnership with our nursing colleagues who have achieved a three-time magnet designation for our hospital. Our daily team consists of four rounding physicians, two daytime admitting providers (1 physician and 1 APP) and one Nocturnist. Our daytime Hospitalists work a blend of rounding and admitting to total 14 shifts in 28 days with 2 weeks’ vacation. We employ 10 hour shifts from 7am-5pm for rounding and 11am-9pm for admitting and have no ICU or bedside procedure responsibility. Our rounding teams have an average daily census of 12-14 and we have an average number of daily admissions of 13 spread among the 3 admitting providers.

Family Practitioner – FQHC

Community Health is seeking a Family Practice Physician to work at our clinics in Castleton and Rutland, Vermont. Physician candidates are expected to be knowledgeable and skilled in the delivery of primary care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Empower patients to take an active role in health maintenance and promote wellness behaviors
  • Provide appropriate patient follow-up and communicate effectively with patients
  • Refer patients to specialty care as necessary
  • Provide clinical supervision to mid-level providers and nursing staff
  • Participate in quality assurance activities
  • Participate in State and National disease collaborative efforts

Community Health is a multi-site FQHC serving 80% of the primary care needs in our community (central Vermont). Community Health Center sites are certified Level 111 Medical Homes, with a highly developed and supportive panel management and case management system in place. Community Health Rutland and Rutland Express Care serve the majority of those living in and around Rutland, the county seat and population center of southern Vermont. The Rutland practice uniquely provides the community with access to Primary Care, Behavioral Health and Care Management services for the whole family. Primary Care services include on-site Behavioral Health providers, Social Workers, and Care Management, along with preventive programs like diabetes management and education. Rutland Express Care, located within the same facility as Community Health Rutland, is open seven days a week for the treatment of minor illnesses and injuries for adults and children.

Geriatric Physician – FQHC

Community Health presents a unique opportunity for a physician to lead a novel geriatric service line. This new service will have a dual function to provide direct patient care and consultative/educational care for the local provider community. Fundamental responsibilities include program design, clinical care, and oversight of clinical operations. Pertinent skills will include establishing and nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, Community Health provides exclusive medical care to three Level I Skilled Nursing and Subacute Rehabilitation facilities in Rutland, Vermont. The position will serve a consultative and supportive role to the independent SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) service line. While the geriatric service line shares some clinical congruencies with the SNF service line, these services are structured as distinctive and independent services. This leadership position reports to the Community Health Chief Medical Officer. Services will be at a newly constructed facility in Rutland, Vermont.

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate from accredited medical school and FM/IM residency.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Geriatric fellowship and subsequent Board certification recommended (not required).
  • Must be eligible for licensing by the State of Vermont.
