About Me

Julie Poulin, MD, PhD, treats patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, which includes the Inpatient Unit, South Wing, Rutland Regional Behavioral Health, and the West Ridge Center. Prior to joining Rutland Regional, Dr. Poulin was practicing at a large 350 bed mental health institution in Pittsburgh, PA. The opportunity to become part of the team at Rutland Regional was appealing to Dr. Poulin because they are assertive, progressive, and very community focused.

A graduate of Psychology from the University Laval in Quebec, Canada, Dr. Poulin went on to the University of Montreal where she earned a Masters in Science for Biomedical Sciences, her Medical Doctorate in 2006, and in 2010, a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Poulin completed four years of Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Poulin is looking forward to making a difference in our community.

There is more evidence that with proper treatment, mental health patients do improve, and become well enough to live and function normally in their community.
