Michael DiMeola, MD, is an anesthesiologist at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Dr. DiMeola, a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society, graduated cum laude from Albany Medical College in 2008. After joining the Army, he completed his internship and residency in anesthesiology. Dr. DiMeola began practicing at Rutland Regional in 2016. He loves the Northeast and finds the Rutland area to be a wonderful place to live.
As the son of a nephrologist, some of Dr. DiMeola’s earliest memories are of rounding on patients in the dialysis unit. Watching his father care for others gave him a profound respect for the sacred bond between a physician and his patients. One of the reasons
I was drawn to anesthesiology because of the intensive and dedicated focus required to care for each individual patient while they are in the OR. That kind of specialized care, requiring a highly trained provider who is completely dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of a patient during a surgery, is very appealing to me.
Outside of work, Dr. DiMeola is a photographer and runs a fine art photography business. He donates 100% of the profits to the National Forest Foundation. He is a dedicated outdoorsman and spends his time hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. He lives in Pittsford with his two golden retrievers.
