About Me

A native Vermonter, Dr. Ernest Bove has been in private practice in Rutland for more than 25 years. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and attended the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1986, he completed his urological training at Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Bove is a board-certified urologist. He is also a member of the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association, and the Vermont State Medical Society. He is a past president of the Medical Staff at the Rutland Regional Medical Center. Dr. Bove is committed to providing high-quality urological care to patients in his community.

Under his leadership as Medical Director of Urology, Rutland Regional has received multiple awards over the years, most recently the 2022-2023 High Performing hospital for urology from U.S. News & World Report. This was the second year in a row for this award, and Rutland Regional was the only hospital in Vermont to be recognized as a high performing hospital for urology. In 2015, Healthgrades® named Rutland Regional as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Care.

Dr. Bove is married, has four children and five grandchildren. He is an avid golfer and has been a certified spinning instructor.
